Hey there! I’m Cheri.  I guess before anything else I’m a Christian.  It hasn’t always been that way, but I definitely carry it with me everywhere I go now.  Putting my relationship with God first impacts not only me, but my family and of course, my business. 

 

I grew up in small-town USA, literally right smack in the middle of America.  Kansas has a lot more than just wheat fields to offer.  I was lucky enough to meet my husband and best friend, Matt, in the throws of teenage angst and all that other good stuff that goes with growing up too fast.

My biggest blessing, other than Matt, has been our five beautiful children.  My stairstep babies – ages 2 to 9 – keep us very busy!  I’m also blessed to live in such a caring community, where I’ve recently been asked to serve as Vice President for Women’s Source, an organization put in place just for women in business like me.  I also serve as publicity chair on my local MOPS Steering Team and am a Girl Scout Leader for the 3rd year in a row.  Helping my community is a huge part of my life, as is photography.

 

Ahhhh, the camera…it’s not my job, really.  It’s part of who I am.  I love it all, and so far I’ve been able to pull my passion together with my other hobbies like movies, scrapbooking and cards. I can’t remember a time in the last 10 years when I didn’t have a camera with me, or if I forgot to bring it, felt naked without one! 

 

Transitioning from film to digital was exactly what I needed for my Studio with all the munchkins running about – so digital photography is what I primarily practice.  I’ve been able to bridge my passions for photography and community by volunteering to teach classes for the local Pathfinder club, taking pics for VBS sessions in the summer and doing custom video work for several folks.

No matter what I do, it seems to involve photographs.  It’s the skin I’m most comfortable in, so I wouldn’t change it for the world…
